First Candy Review; Meiji Almond Crunch with Kameda Kaki no Tane & Melty Kiss Extra Gianduja

Here I look at 2 offerings from Meiji, as well as a little nod to the first Tirol chocolate I've ever tried. (review for that coming up next post)  Here's a hint....it won't be my last one! ^_^

Check out my video review then check out pics below.

Meiji  Almond Crunch with Kameda Kaki no Tane
The funky looking candy with a bold flavor!
This is a very interesting candy. It was really hard for me to place the taste and texture of what it reminded me of, but it finally dawned on me there's something akin to Butterfinger bars about it with it's extremely crunchy texture and flavor. But with a hint of spiciness.
It does grow on you, the taste that is. Which seems to be forever changing as you eat it. First all I got was the hit of spice, next piece was very cocoa tasting. By the 4th piece is when the total peanut-buttery taste started to kick in. It has very deep flavors that are complex. It's not sweet tasting, instead it has a richness about it that reminds me of a peanut-butter and chocolate type candy.
I'll definitely be back for more, before they pull them off the market.

Kinda looks like a pack of dino eggs. ^_^

 Meiji Melty Kiss
(Extra Gianduja aka Hazelnut Flavor)

I LOVE Melty Kiss, but I didn't love this version of them. After tasting it, I can see why there weren't too many places carrying them. The flavor which is hazelnut is just too light. And I didn't detect any cocoa powder on the outside of them, which is a Melty Kiss trademark. Not really anything else to say here, other than to skip this version, which shouldn't be too hard, I doubt they'll be selling these again next season.

Both items in this review were special requests fulfilled for me by David who's an ebay seller based in Japan. So you can contact him to see about buying some yourself. Here is a link to his ebay page; http://www.ebay.com/sch/hirokojapan/m.html
